ABOUT US:
Hi Everyone,
My name is Hannah Grebe: welcome to the Stage Lights Homeschool Drama website. I'm a 16 year old homeschool sophomore who's had a passion for musicals for as long as I can remember. I've been involved with several theater groups since the age of 5. My stage experience includes performing in shows with Music Theater of Wichita, Crown Uptown, Music Theater for Young People (MTYP), Christian Youth Theater, and Wichita Children's Theatre. It was from this love that more than three years ago, I decided to start what I thought would be a small drama group. I recruited my friends younger siblings and my little sisters friends between the ages of 4 and 12 to join my group, "Kansas Homeschool Drama". The first show, in March 2009, was based off the children's book 'Romeow and Drooliet' by Nina Laden. My friend Margaret and I directed together, and we contacted the author for permission to write a script. The next two months, after an overwhelming response of 15 kids, we cast the kids, put together a set, and used weekly rehearsals to teach the litle participants everything they needed to know to put on the production. Two performances were held at the Rockwell Public Library. Though the show lasted only about 10 minutes, from the first moment on, I knew that this was EXACTLY what I wanted to do! A year later, I began another group on my own: Stage Lights Homeschool Drama. In spring of 2010, the first production, Selections from Annie, was held at Chapel Hill Fellowship with 10 kids. The second show, a summer camp called "Lights, Camera, Action!", was held at the same location in August of 2010 with 14 kids. On July 26-31, 2011, with a single performance on the last day, "Christmas in July" summer camp was held with 24 amazing homeschool kids. Finally, on July 9-15, 2012, the summer camp will be "Oliver! the Review". More information about all productions can be found on this site.
The opportunities I've had and the kids I've gotten to work with have been so incredible...it's been such a blessing to be able to pursue my dreams with this group! I hope to have the chance to work with as many of you as I can in the future. Thank you so much, and please feel free to contact me at: stagelightsdrama@gmail.com with anything :)
